This exposed basement in Sussex was transformed with a game room, bar area, TV area and a full bath. In-floor heat and ceramic tile cover the floor in the bar area and bath. The opening was widened, and a new patio door installed. The walls and ceiling were insulated for sound, and covered with drywall to blend seamlessly with the rest of the house.

This finished lower level in Hartland features a literal Home Theater, complete with riser seating before a projection screen. A built-in cabinet houses all the electronic components. MidContinent cabinets and plastic laminate countertops comprise the kitchenette, and the tile floor in that area makes for easy clean up.

The stone fireplace was cleaned up to create a focal point in the rec room portion, and a spiral staircase provides one point of access from the main living area. A decorative archway frames a mini kitchenette. But the main attraction to this area is the indoor hot tub with a stone tile face and decorative tile strips. The tile floor continues into the new bath, complete with shower, and into the sauna.
